NAS Guard consists of two parts: the NAS Guard Agent (running near your TrueNAS) and the NAS Guard iOS app (on your iPhone). This guide explains how to pair them and how the secure TrueNAS connection works.

Note: The one-click Agent install described in this guide requires NAS Guard version 1.16 or later.
Goal: Reliable alerts and live status, even with self-signed TrueNAS certificates.

Quick start

  1. Create a server profile in the iOS app (TrueNAS URL + API key).
  2. Install the Agent from the app with one tap (Server Monitoring → Install Agent).
  3. Create a pairing code in the iOS app and enter it in the Agent Web UI.

The NAS Guard Agent

The Agent is a lightweight container that runs on your TrueNAS. It monitors your server and sends real-time push alerts to your iPhone — no port forwarding required, and your data stays private.
